Awesome letter! I am with ABIBLESTUDENT, though - remove the 'see things from my perspective' sentence. Otherwise, perfect.

I want to send a nice note to my sister
by Faithful Witness init's been about 5 weeks, since my sister sent me the email telling me she no longer wants to communicate with me (at this time).. i was never a jw, so i am not going to agree to those crazy terms.
i explained to her that she can do what she wants, but i will continue to be kind, and that i forgive her cruel treatment toward me.. i have given her some space, and i feel like i am ready to send her another note.
instead of bringing up any hard feelings of today, i was going to share some memories that i have of our early, pre-jw days.

This is possibly one of the most paranoia-inducing Watchtowers ever.
Thanks for the summary, BLONDIE.

Woody Allen speaks out
by NewYork44M inwoody allen wrote a very compelling article in the op-ed of the new york times.. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/opinion/sunday/woody-allen-speaks-out.html?ref=opinion&_r=0.
have you ever been accused of something you did not do?
if that happens, what do you do?.

I was always a big Woody Allen fan. In fact, when I turned 21, my father brought me to Michael's Pub to watch him play with his band.
Here's how I see it: What I know is that Allen began a relationship with Mia Farrow's adopted daughter. This act, while evidently 'legal', was morally reprehensible. This alone is all that is neccesary to identify Allen as (at the very least) a narcissistic asshole.
On the other hand, Farrow comes off as a whack-job as well. What bothered me especially was the suggestion that Frank Sinatra was the 'real' father of her son, Whatever-the-Hell-His-Name-Is.*
Folks, we're in the age of DNA testing. EITHER HE'S F-ING FRANK SINATRA'S SON OR HE ISN'T! Why the suggestion and yet no proof? This, to me, identifies Farrow as ANOTHER narcissistic asshole.
So, I feel for the poor kids, especially Dylan.
I don't know. I think at best, she had two of the most narcissistic, shitty parents on the planet.
I honestly don't believe either one.

1914 - "A Turning Point In History"?
by Bobcat inthe february 2014 public wt has a cover series of articles dealing with world war i, and by inference 1914. the articles describe wwi as 'causing the world to be changed' and as "a turning point in history.".
setting the wt's defective 1914 chronology aside for a minute, how do these statements about wwi coincide with the view of the nt?.
certainly wwi was a big war.

BOBCAT - I think you might be putting a little too much emphasis on Christ ;-)
What I found interesting about the article (and my wife did too) wasn't what it said, but what was omitted.
Here we have a magazine dedicated to this 'turning point in history' and yet, the articles never mention the date the war started.
Hmmmm...... Wonder why......

Really need the English versions of these videos, or an accurate re-translation back to English subtitles. Looks like amazing stuff.

The kindness of (worldly) strangers
by moley inyesterday i went surfing, when i had finished and got changed i tried to start my car, no joy.
there were about 12 cars in the car park and the occupants of 8 of the cars all tried to help out at some point as they could see i was having difficulties, one guy even drove to a garage 5 miles away to get me a coffee i didn't even ask for as it was a freezing cold day and a couple of them let me sit in their cars to warm up while i waited for the rac.
contrast this to a time when i was in and my car wouldn't start (different car lol) in a kh car park and all i got was snarky comments, or advice in passing but no one stopped to help out.. i know who i prefer, has anyone else been helped by the evil worldly's while ignored by the loving jw's.

Great story!
Here's a classic story from about 25 years ago: A car group is out in "the field" with sister Zealous Nutjob when they see another car group full of sisters broken down on the side of the road attempting to change a tire. The "car captain" brother naturally pulls over to give them a hand, at which point sister Nutjob proceeds to have a nervous breakdown because they are now "stealing time from Jehovah" and starts crying uncontrollably. The brother ignored her and changed the flat for the other car group and then brought sister Nutjob back to the hall where she proceeded to "tell on" him to the elders for what he had done.
They've got some real gems in this organization!

I am certainly no expert on this, but from having had family deal with cancer and chemotherapy, I wouldn't assume that chemotherapy would neccesarily make you feel nauseous or produce other bad side effects.
My FIL had chemo for colon cancer and and there were no significant side effects (he did take the anti-nausea drug). My mother has a different form of cancer, and her chemotherapy treatment has worked wonders with no side effects whatsoever.
Wishing you the best,

What are the feelings/thoughts within 24-48 hours of exposure to an undeniably true (for you) TATT?
by NeverKnew inmany of us know where we were during 9/11 or when john kennedy and martin luther king were killed.. it seems that when faced with ttatt, real truth is dismissed as "ol' light" or "an imperfect group of men" but from what i gather, many of you, at some point, were hit with a component of ttatt that shattered all of those cliches that allowed you to brush off the obvious reality that something was very wrong.
some of you may remember the hours following your earliest exposures to an undeniably true tatt.
did you zone completely out?

Interesting question. . . . Yes, it was kind of a "floating" feeling, unreal, a kind of dissociation.
When it dawned on me that it was all BS the world almost seemed to literally tilt upside-down. It actually physically felt like "something happened". . . . not scary, just weird.
